Indigo Artist Studio is a working studio for artists, Mary Arthur Pollak and Lillian M. Cololidge. The studio features monotypes, mixed media, and oils and is open for Newburyport ArtWalks and by appointment or by chance. In addition to works in progress, a monotype press, and visiting the artists, the studio is an eclectic mix of style including tin ceilings and strange angles. Samuel Isham wore many hats as art historian, critic, lawyer, artist and author. His book, A History of American Paintings, was one of the first major histories of American art. First published in 1905, the work, referenced by students and scholars alike, offered an interesting, straightforward and intellectual account of the subject.
